Gaecheon Restaurant

'Gaecheon Restaurant' is run by a grandmother from Hamgyeong Province who came searching for her lost son along the Gaecheon stream during the Korean War. It is a dumpling-specialty Korean restaurant that has been operating for over 70 years, making handmade Hamgyeong-style dumplings. Beef bone broth prepared by simmering from the previous day is carefully cooked until opening time each day. The tteok mandu-guk (rice cake dumpling soup) contains rice cakes, dumplings, eggs, sliced beef, and sweet potato noodles, offering a deep flavor similar to galbi-tang (short rib soup). The fried dumplings here are another specialty, so be sure to try them.
